Network Strategic Plan

1. What is your vision for this CRG Network?

Preventing, treating, living with, and understanding conditions that affect the brain, nerves, and/or mind are a major part of our activity in Cochrane. MHN brings together all of the groups invested in neuroscience and mental health from the broadest of perspectives, from psychology, mental health nursing, social work and psychiatry through to neurology, pharmacology and surgery. We are focussed not only on the nervous system, but on personal, developmental and social influences. Our vision is to provide a collective identity both within Cochrane, so we can learn from each other’s experience and successes, and externally so international bodies in neuroscience and mental health have a visible presence when they want to engage with the evidence. Our goal is to build this network and its community to become a force of progress in knowledge production and exchange.

2. What are the 2-3 key goals including quality and innovations you have planned for this CRG Network?

  • To improve the quality, independence, reliability and reach of evidence based neuroscience and mental health
  • To create and manage a positive community of Cochrane members working in our core area
  • To move our evidence closer to decision support

The Network Associate and Senior Editor along with their CRG community have now finalised the strategic plan for the coming two years after deliberations online and with one face-to-face meeting in September 2018.  Their plans are based on five key objectives that will guide their work until 2020:

  1. Supporting review production and capacity
  2. Evaluating Network scope and prioritisation of topics
  3. Fostering collaboration within the Network and with the wider Cochrane community
  4. Supporting knowledge translation to increase the impact of Cochrane reviews
  5. Ensuring accountability and sustainability of the Network
